What on earth is this country coming to? If you hand out lenient sentences, there is no deterrent for crime, things like this, road rage, violent crime, sexual assaults, muggings and burglaries are all on the increase (contrary to what the police tell us), the way crime is being recorded has changed, meaning some crimes have been downgraded not to appear. I think a good thing would be for prisoners to spend their detained time, building more prisons. Oh no..hang on that might be against the criminals human rights in this politically correct (failing rapidly) softly nancy country!
