Swaffham has been chosen by Norfolk County Council to pilot a new provider-led, partnership approach to healthcare.

This will bring together all parts of the local care and support market, from nursing homes to voluntary organisations.

The 12-month long programme, funded by the council’s market development fund, will support Swaffham’s care and support providers to help shape the care market to meet the future demands of its ageing population.

It will also help address identified gaps in the care and support workforce as well as improve the overall quality of care.

Paul Smyth, the Norfolk county councillor for Swaffham, said: “If it goes well, this pilot scheme could see Swaffham become a model of best practice for the whole of Norfolk.”

The partnership will be launched in the Assembly Rooms in Swaffham at 1pm on Monday, February 6.
