Swaffham man jailed 11 years for drug dealing is told to pay back more than £6,000

A Swaffham man jailed for 11 years for drugs offences was back in court for a confiscation hearing and ordered to pay back more than £6.000.

Keith Wright, 58, was sentenced at Norwich Crown Court in April this year after admitting three counts of possession with intent to supply a Class A drug.

Hilary O’Keefe, prosecuting, said the benefit figure from his drug dealing operation was estimated at £36,000.

However she said Wright had no assets other than the £6,118, seized by police at his arrest.

Recorder Burton ordered the cash to be confiscated.

Wright admitted possessing heroin with a street value of £10,600 when officers searched an address in Mill Street, Necton in April last year.

Five months later, Wright was found in possession of heroin with a street value of £17,400.

He was further arrested in March and found with heroin with an estimated street value of £1,600.
