A boy from Swaffham has kept his promise to his friends by donating his hair to charity.

Aiden Tigue has braved the shave for the Little Princess Trust in memory of his grandmother Sandra Tigue, who died of cancer.

The 11-year-old was hoping to raise £340 as well as donating his hair, which is used by the charity to make wigs for those who have lost their hair going through treatment for cancer - but smashed his target, raising £630.57

The youngster had been growing his hair out for the past three years and his friends did not believe he would go through with it.

But he put his doubters to shame as he braved the haircut.

He said: “My hair is always in my face so I needed to get rid of it. All my friends kept on thinking I’m was lying as they didn’t think I was going to cut it and my teachers said they won’t recognise me.”
