Quick, turn the heating up! Norfolk set to experience first frost of the season tonight

If you’re heading out to watch fireworks tonight, make sure to wrap up warm.

After a mild week, Sunday, November 5 is likely to be the coldest night of the season so far, with temperatures predicted to drop drastically.

According to experts at Norwich-based forecaster Weatherquest, Norfolk could experience temperatures as low as -1C with many people waking up to frost on the ground on Monday morning.

This will be the first frost of the season.

Meteorologist Dan Holley said: “We’re likely to see a frost in southern and western Norfolk at least.

“Across Norfolk temperatures will be down between -1C and 2C, while those in the north and northeast will experience a slightly less chilly evening at 4C or 5C thanks to an onshore breeze.”

On Sunday morning Norfolk County Council tweeted that it would be sending gritters out on county routes in the early hours for the first gritting run of this autumn/winter.

The Met Office says Monday’s weather will be “dry, cold and mostly sunny with light winds” with a maximum temperature of 10C.

Tuesday morning is set to be “cloudy and rather dry” with “rain moving east later”.

Cloud and rain should clear eastwards during Wednesday with sunshine on Thursday.
