A brother and sister have raised nearly £2,000 by taking on a charity challenge after both their parents died of cancer.

Kirsty Turner and Andrew Mclaughlan, both from Thetford, took part in a tandem skydive, at Beccles Airfield, and have raised £950 each for Cancer Research UK.

The charity is close to the pair’s hearts after both their parents died of cancer.

Their mother Pat died from breast cancer on November 28 1989 and Mrs Turner and her sister Louisa raised £1,000 in 2009 when they did a sky dive in aid of Breast Cancer UK.

Their father Paul died on November 28 last year from bowel cancer and the recent skydive was in done in his memory.

Mrs Turner said the family had talked about the charity event with their father. His cancer was diagnosed as terminal in September and it had been on his bucket list to attend. 
The 40-year-old has thanked friends, family and colleagues for their donations.
