An ambitious teenager with a passion for business has started his own creative agency.

Todd Pitcher said he has always wanted to start his own business and has taken inspiration from his parents who are both self-employed.

The 19-year-old, who lives in Malthouse Close, Watton, launched Semibold - a branding, design and digital agency - at the start of the month which he runs from his house.

Clients include the White Hart pub in Swaffham, The Metro nightclub and bar in Dereham and Affinity WiFi.

The former Dereham Sixth Form College student spends his evenings, weekends and free time working on his business while also having a full-time job as a graphic designer for Shropham-based Premier Education group.

Mr Pitcher said: “My life is pretty much work at the moment. I have always been a hard worker in whatever I have done so it comes naturally to me.

“I have always had an interest in business.”

He added: “My parents gave me advice as they understand what it is like working for yourself.”

Mr Pitcher said he was “pretty proud” of Semibold and also has two freelancers who can help with projects if required.

At the age of 14 Mr Pitcher started doing design but did not realise “what it could turn into”.

“I took art and graphic design and realised I was pretty good at it”, he said. “I have been a creative person all my life.

“I have always known I wanted to own my own business. Things just fell together.”

The teenager already had an apprenticeship at Premier Education Group lined up before he took his A-level exams, graduating with two A*s and a B.

He moved from the apprenticeship in digital marketing into a full-time role as the sole in-house graphic designer.

“Things started to really pick up and I saw the potential which I have and what I planned to do with it,” said Mr Pitcher. “I thought I would start my agency now and build it up slowly.”

He describes Semibold as his passion project and has praised his full-time job for helping his skill set to grow.

Mr Pitcher, who is also working towards a Level 2 NVQ in creative media said: “I am self taught but it has given me a great insight to working with people and business skills. It is a great place to work and they have taught me a lot.”
