A key interchange is to be part-closed for 10 nights while the road is resurfaced.

Many roads across the region have declined in condition since the snow and ice of a couple of weeks ago, which has caused more potholes to appear and has worsened existing problems.

Now Highways England, which looks after Britain’s motorways and A-roads, has started a series of works overnight at the Fiveways roundabout, which links Thetford to Mildenhall and Newmarket.

The closures started on Monday, March 12 and for nine nights will mean a full northbound closure of the A11 between Junction 38 of the A14 and the Fiveways roundabout.

On the last night of works, starting on Friday, March 23, a full southbound closure of the A11 will be in place between Fiveways roundabout and Red Lodge interchange.

Works will take place on weeknights only and will finish 6am on Saturday, March 24.

The closures will take place between 8pm and 6am each night.

The work adds to existing resurfacing taking place on the A11 between Attleborough and the Thickthorn roundabout.
